Journey through time with Kruder & Dorfmeister

They are the showcase of the Viennese down tempo sound. Kruder & Dorfmeister embarked on a global career in the 1990s. Artists such as Madonna, Depeche Mode, and Roni Size commissioned the DJ and producing duo with remix projects. Their successful mix album "The K&D Sessions" (1998) was played up and down in chill-out lounges from Ibiza to New York. The album is considered a classic of the genre. It was the most ground-breaking sound to come out Vienna since Arnold Schönberg and the biggest commercial success since Falco. Thereafter, Kruder & Dorfmeister went their separate ways and had success with solo projects such as Tosca.

The music press has long speculated over whether there would ever be a joint album. Everyone had given up hope, but the time has now finally come. The legendary album, which is appropriately entitled "1995" – a reference to the glory days of Kruder & Dorfmeister – will be released in November 2020.

Legendary "Lost Album"

A taste of the album is provided by the single "Johnson". The single sounds like it should. In other words, just like in the olden days. Which is hardly surprising if you believe the story of how the album came about: because, according to a couple of recorded test copies, it was supposedly completed in 1995 but then forgotten. And rediscovered, dusted off and reconstructed in 2020. What had worked well in the 1990s ought to also work well in 2020.

The album "1995" is released on November 13, 2020.
