1 What can I win? 

The following prize will be drawn for the “Vienna is not Dull” Competition on dull.vienna.info 

• 2 nights for 2 people in Hotel Imperial Vienna or a similar hotel in January 2027. 

• The exact dates will be specified by the VTB depending on the exact date of the Vienna Ball of Sciences 2027. Possible dates are 22^nd to 24^th of January or 29^th to 31^st of January 2027. 

• round-trip flight from/to Vienna from the airport stated by the participant in the form 

• 2 entrance tickets for the Vienna Ball of Sciences or a similar ball 

• 1 Vienna City Card 

• and 1 Vienna goodie bag. 

• The prize may not be exchanged and there is no cash equivalent. The prize cannot be transferred to other people. For services (e.g. hotel room bookings, flight tickets etc.), the time or period of use depends on availability. The prize must be used in the stated period, or it will expire. 

2 Start and end of the competition 

• Entry period is from 23^rd of January 2026 to 2^nd of March 2026.  

3 Who can take part? 

• Entry is open to natural persons aged 18 and over who register online at dull.vienna.info during the entry period. 

• Entry to the competition is not open to employees of the VTB or its partners, or to members of such employees’ families or households. 

• In case of violations of these Terms and Conditions of Entry, the VTB reserves the right to disqualify the individuals concerned. 

• Individuals who use unauthorized forms of support or other types of manipulation, e.g. automatically generated participation by means of bots, will also be disqualified. In such cases, the VTB reserves the right to subsequently revoke any prizes awarded, or to claim damages if the prize has been redeemed, provided the entrant is at fault. 

4 How are the winners determined? 

• After the entry period, the winner will be selected randomly and contacted via email. If the winner does not respond within 30 days after notification, the claim to the prize will lapse without replacement. There is no obligation to accept the prize. 

5 How will the winner be notified? 

• The winner will be notified by email immediately after the end of the competition using the email address provided by the participant. 

6 What happens with my data? 

• By participating in the contest, you consent to the collection and processing of your personal data for the purpose of conducting and managing the contest and notifying you in case of a win. Providing this information is necessary to participate in the contest. We will store your data until the winners are determined. You may withdraw your consent at any time by sending us a notification. Your data will then be deleted.  

• In the event of a win, we will process your data (name, address) to deliver and utilize the prize, and it will be deleted after the statutory retention period of 10 years.  

• Personal data will only be shared with contest partners (e.g., airline, hotel, etc.) in the event of a win to facilitate prize processing.  

• The Vienna Tourist Board explicitly states that no personal data will be shared with third parties. Exceptions include the transmission of data as part of contract processing, such as sending and storing emails or storing data in a secure data center. These are processors under Article 4, Point 8 of the GDPR, who are carefully selected and contractually bound to adhere to the same data protection standards. Processors only have access to your data to the extent and for the duration necessary to provide their services or to the extent that you have consented to the processing and use of your data.

7 What happens if one of the provisions in the Terms and Conditions of Entry is invalid? 

• In such cases, the remaining terms and conditions are still valid. The invalid provision will be replaced by a valid term or condition that comes closest to the intended purpose of the invalid term or condition. 

8 Which law applies? 

• The contest is exclusively subject to Austrian law. The place of performance and jurisdiction is Vienna. The application of the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods, as well as international conflict-of-law rules, is excluded.  

9 Legal recourse and liability 

• Legal recourse is excluded. There is no enforceable claim to the prize. The organizer is not liable for any direct or indirect damages resulting from participation in the contest, the drawing, or the unavailability of the internet server unless such damages are due to gross negligence or intentional actions of the legal representatives, employees, or agents of the organizer. Furthermore, the organizer assumes no liability for any data loss, particularly during data transmission or other technical defects that may affect the contest results or participation in the contest. 

• The providers of the prize services are liable for their actions. The providers and WTV are liable exclusively in cases of gross negligence and for direct damages (in any case not for consequential damages and the like). Liability for personal injury and under mandatory liability law is not limited by this.
