Rondell on the Cobenzl
The Cobenzl is one of Vienna's home mountains and a popular excursion destination, where a new café-restaurant can now also be found. Whether guests arrive on public transport or hike up the Cobenzl on foot, they are always rewarded with a unique view of the city and good food in the Rondell Café. The Rondell is part of a larger complex of buildings: The Weitsicht Cobenzl is an ensemble of historic and newly constructed buildings that are available for meetings and events. There is also a publicly accessible lookout platform on the roof of the Rondell.
Retro in Fifties style
The Cobenzl experienced a golden age as an excursion destination from the 1930s onwards. At the beginning of the 1950s, the legendary Rondell Café was built, which the newly built café-restaurant on the same spot now visually recreates. Quoting the history of the place, the fittings and furnishings of the Rondell Café make reference to the 1950s. Wood paneling, terrazzo floors, and lots of plants run throughout the entire ensemble of the Weitsicht Cobenzl as style elements.
The café-restaurant is open daily and offers modern Viennese. Bus line 38A runs directly to the Weitsicht Cobenzl. The bus runs from U4 station Heiligenstadt and stops right outside the complex – or you can walk the final stops along a pretty hiking trail.
