Viennese Cuisine JJ style
Johannes Pietsch, aka JJ, winner of the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, considers himself a real foodie. As he is of Filipino descent, a certain level of spiciness in his food is undisputable for him. JJ spices up everything, which is why he always carries hot sauce with him as well. Even before his big performances, the Vienna native likes his food fiery hot.
The big question is: Can the famous, yet not so spicy, dishes of the Viennese cuisine, be transformed into hot ones? In a suite at the Hotel Imperial on Vienna’s Ringstraße, JJ faces the challenge for us - on an empty stomach, by the way. On his table, he finds everything needed to spice things up: Viennese products from Chili-Werkstatt, Stauds, and by sausage maker Zum scharfen René.
First course: Entrees
On the menu: Old Viennese soup pot, boiled beef aspic, and Viennese herring salad.
