Vienna is a great place to stay for people who don't want to miss out on sport while on holiday. The city has a number of groups and associations that offer the LGBT community the possibility to pursue their sport amongst like-minded people.

The next big LGBT sports highlight in Vienna: the multi-day sports event for the LGBT community and friends takes place for the first time in Vienna from July 17 to 20, 2024. At least 27 types of sport are on the program for the approximately 3,000 participants from around the world. Everyone can take part – regardless of their sexual orientation. Already set as sporting venues are the Old and New Danube, where the rowing, sailing, stand-up paddle boarding and wakeboarding competitions will be held. https://eurogames2024.at/

Extensive sports offering for LGBT

The oldest and biggest LGBT sports association in Austria is Aufschlag Wien. The Vienna Beach Trophy, the biggest LGBT beach volleyball tournament in Europe, is held every year in August. The Vienna Valentine Swim Tournament is organized by the Kraulquappen every other year and always takes place – as the name suggests – around Valentine's Day, on February 14.

Marantana offers volleyball matches for women. Dance enthusiasts organize the international Vienna Dance Contest in the autumn. And the women's dance club Resis.danse offers courses for dance-crazy women all year round.

Indoor & outdoor

Everyone who wants to stay in shape on holiday can visit one of the many fitness centers in Vienna. Particularly worth mentioning are all clubs of the low-cost Club Danube chain, the exclusive John Harris as well as the trendy clubs of BodyStyle. So hit the weights!

Many sporting kilometers can be covered on the Danube Island, in the Vienna Woods or on one of the local Viennese mountains.
