Mountain biking in Vienna

Trailcenter Hohe Wand Wiese

13 modern trails ranging from easy to difficult are waiting to be explored. However, before you get to the fun part – the descent – you first have to pedal your way up the technically and physically demanding uphill line. A moderate alternative is available via a forest road. Outside the summer tobogganing season, you can even take your bike up the hill on the ski lift.
Once at the top, you can choose between eleven (downhill) tracks, also known as lines, which vary in difficulty and design. There is something for everyone here, whether you are a pro or a beginner.

The Trailcenter also offers rental bikes and equipment, training on cycling techniques, a practice course and guided tours on the trails around the center and throughout the Vienna Woods. A new feature is the shuttle service for bikers and bikers to the Sophienalpe or Trailsafari.

By the way: The Hohe Wand Wiese also has a summer toboggan run for high-speed descents (closed in the season 2025).

How to get there: From Hütteldorf station (subway, rapid transit railway, Westbahn), the Hohe Wand Wiese can be reached in 15 minutes with bus line 450. The facility also offers a parking lot free of charge.
