Youth hostels & hostels

Youth hostels have long since ceased to be the preserve of teenagers and twenty-somethings. Vienna’s hostels offer a total of around 4,600 beds. There’s something to suit every taste - from the simple hostel, where you can find an inexpensive bed upon presentation of a youth hostel pass, to the large, comfortably appointed youth hostels. Our tip: book well in advance!

Camp sites

Vienna’s two campsites located on the edges of the city have plenty of space, even for large caravans.

Camping Neue Donau "Action & Fun"

Am Kaisermühlendamm 119
1220 Wien

The camp sites are located in the green oases that can be found in Vienna – Lobau National Park, the New Danube and Danube Island. Those seeking refreshment in cool waters in between sightseeing and shopping should book into Aktiv Camping Neue Donau. Sports enthusiasts can make use of the site’s direct access to the Danube Cycle Path or one of the many other leisure offerings. Night-owls get their money’s worth at the nearby “Copa Beach” with its restaurants and bars.

Camping Wien West "Sightseeing & Biking"

Hüttelbergstraße 80
1140 Wien

The Camping Wien West camp site near the Vienna Woods promises recreation and peace, even though the city center is just 30 minutes away. Keen hikers and mountain bikers can choose from a large number of different routes and set off directly from the camp site. Culture vultures have the possibility to visit the nearby Schönbrunn Palace, the former summer residence of the Habsburgs, or the Church of St. Leopold (designed by Otto Wagner). More comfort is promised by the 25 bungalows, which can accommodate up to 4 people. The bungalows have an area of 15 m² and are furnished with bunk beds, a table and chairs.

Caravan pitch

The caravan park in the south of Vienna is open all year round and has space for 180 vehicles. The pitches are between 5 x 10 and 5 x 20 meters in size. Pitch fees are billed per day. Numerous shops and restaurants as well as the subway station at “Perfektastrasse” are just a few minutes’ walk away. Tickets for use on public transport are available at the station.
