1,200 square meters in area, an overall height of 16 meters and 2,300 square meters of varied climbing landscape for all levels of difficulty - that's the "Kletterhalle Wien". The largest climbing hall in Austria offers something for everyone, whether beginners, sports climbers or experienced Alpine tourists with training ambitions.

On 700 square meters of boulder area (to boulder means climbing in jumping height) one can practice, warm up, and try out some tricks without any danger. They can then be applied during Top Rope Climbing (= climbing with secured ropes from above). Equipment such as shoes, straps, and helmets can be rented; courses and workshops, generous sanitary facilities, a seminar room, and a café bar are also available.

The indoor climbing hall in the green outdoors offers approx. 300 routes on 1,674 m² of climbing area and a bouldering surface 540 m². There are also 2 arrester systems, a training area, and much more besides.

The ÖTK Climbing Hall has all sorts on offer: 950 m² of climbing area on 4 levels, climbing wall up to 15 m in height, bright atrium with underfloor heating, climbing on routes with all degrees of difficulty or free climbing, lead climbing walls with fixed ropes for rope-secured top-rope climbing, climbable display windows, 4 large boulder rooms for rope-free climbing with crashpads, training rooms with tilting walls, campus board, wall bars. Special courses can also be booked here for children from 4 years of age, beginners and the over-50s, sports climbing and alpine climbing. Climbing equipment can be affordably rented or purchased in the adjacent alpine shop.

Bouldering halls in Vienna

  • Boulderbar Vienna & Boulderbar Wienerberg

Unlike many "climbing caves" located in basements, the Boulderbar Vienna impresses with its light, airy ambience. The mail used to be sorted in this supermarket-sized halls with skylights - nowadays, boulderers puzzle out their routes across an area of approx. 1,300 m².

Another location can be found in the south of Vienna at the High Tech Campus on the Wienerberg. The hall has a MoonBoard, a training area, a 45-degree walls, a kids zone, a cozy bar and plenty of free parking spaces.

The light-drenched bouldering hall offers suitable routes both for ambitious boulderers as well as beginners. There are lots of places to sit between the mats for a rest, a bistro with a wide range of food and drinks, and a training area. The Blockfabrik also impresses visually with its design.

Outdoor climbing

  • Flakturm Esterházypark

A view over the roofs of the city is offered by the 25 sports climbing routes on the Flakturm in Esterházypark. On an area of over 700 square meters, more than 4,000 handholds offer variety and challenges of a vertical nature. The up to 34 meter-high main wall offers routes for beginners and experts, between difficulty levels 4 and 8.
