Summer days on the Old Danube

The Old Danube is a centrally located recreational paradise and a calm body of water that has something to offer for every taste and is also frequently visited by the Viennese.

Visitors are particularly enchanted by the romantic events in spring and summer. There are all sorts of possibilities for the perfect break and unforgettable moments on the water: A special Mother's Day surprise with arranged floral greeting, a romantic full-moon ride with Prosecco, or the popular Light Festival on the Old Danube should not be missed!. Make sure you reserve your boat in time at:

About 500 row boats, electric and paddle boats are awaiting vacationers from around the world. The waters are also very popular among sailors; it was on the Old Danube, after all, that the first sailing regatta on Austrian waters took place. And at Stand-Up-Paddling, visitors can experience Vienna's waterways from a whole new perspective.

Numerous outdoor pools, such as the famous "Gänsehäufel", have excellent water quality and tempt visitors to enjoy many pleasant hours at the beach. About forty restaurants - most located directly on the water - ensure carefree hours from April to October. More information at:

Tip: In the same place, the Schinakl restaurant rents out unique, ecological "swimming islands" with cozy sofas, tables and sun terraces, and a "dining on board" service directly from the restaurant if required. More information at:
