Augarten Vienna Porcelain Manufactory
The designs of Augarten porcelain have been created in cooperation with notable artists ever since the manufactory first opened its doors. Artists of all epochs have designed masterpieces - the spectrum ranges from Baroque to modern over more than 25,000 products. The “Viennese Rose” is a famous decoration from the Biedermeier period, while the world-famous melon service was created by Josef Hoffmann in 1929. Young designers work on modern shapes and reduced decoration, while simultaneously continuing the 300-year-old tradition. Individual customer requests are also implemented to perfection. The elegant porcelainware can be purchased in the store of the porcelain manufactory or at the flagship store in Vienna city center.
Guided tours
A tour of the porcelain manufactory, which is located in the former imperial Augarten pleasure palace, gives an impression of how much attention to detail goes into the production of every single piece. You can experience how the ‘white gold’ is created on guided tours. The porcelain museum, which is also housed in Augarten Palace, additionally illustrates the history of Viennese porcelain with a range of representative examples.
