❤️ The Valentine's Day program ❤️

Vienna has always been a city of strong emotions – from imperial love stories to the quiet romance of its coffee houses. Around Valentine’s Day, this special atmosphere can be felt not only in the city’s most famous spots, but well beyond them.

Sleeping like a King

Vienna is known for its beautiful hotels. Why not make Valentine’s Day extra special with an unforgettable night at the legendary Hotel Imperial?

Dancing like a Queen

An evening in elegant attire, dancing to a slow waltz: Vienna hosts more than 450 balls every year. January and February mark the height of the ball season, so planning ahead is strongly recommended.

No Reservation needed

If you think about Valentine’s Day too late, it can be hard to get a table at a romantic restaurant. In Vienna, there’s an easy solution: at countless Würstelstände across the city, you can enjoy a Valentine’s Day dinner on the go – no reservation required.

The Kiss for eternity

On February 14, from 7 pm to 11 pm, couples can have themselves professionally photographed free of charge in front of Gustav Klimt's famous painting The Kiss in the Upper Belvedere. Admission and event are free.

Here is the exhibition overview for art lovers.

Valentine’s Day Special: Cathedral tour + scavenger hunt

A themed guided tour of St. Stephen’s Cathedral tells stories of love and marriage – both happy and less so – as well as the false figure of Saint Valentine. This is followed by a scavenger hunt through the city centre, uncovering some surprisingly risqué details, even at the cathedral itself, and shedding light on Vienna’s love life in past centuries.

Romantic ice skating

What could be more romantic than ice skating at the Vienna Ice Dreamm? Until March, City Hall Square turns into one of the world’s largest open-air ice rinks, spread across two levels. Extended opening hours until 10 pm even make night skating possible – perfect for a Valentine’s Day date.

14 February is Ferris Wheel Day

A ride on the Giant Ferris Wheel is always a magical experience – not just for couples. On Valentine’s Day, it runs until 9:45 pm.
