Café Bellaria

Café Bellaria, one of the oldest coffee houses in Vienna, was a legend. Situated in the second row behind the Ringstrasse boulevard, it may have the lacked the glamor of the Ringstrasse cafés, but that made it all the more quirky for the public. The former operator went into retirement and luckily a fast food chain did not move in, because two successful restaurateurs took over the Café Bellaria. The revitalisation has proved to be more than successful. The interior design is by the Viennese architecture firm KLK. The impressive dome remains, a neon light installation creating new accents here. Bright-red Thonet chairs, orange benches and gray slate slats form an impressive contrast.

As befits a good coffeehouse in Vienna, Café Bellaria also serves food. A generous breakfast, reinterpreted Viennese classics, traditional pastries and lunch specials are on offer. This makes one thing clear: Café Bellaria is more than a coffeehouse. An exciting blend of tradition and modern cuisine.
