Café Bellaria

Café Bellaria, one of the oldest coffee houses in Vienna, was a legend. Situated in the second row behind the Ringstrasse boulevard, it may have the lacked the glamor of the Ringstrasse cafés, but that made it all the more quirky for the public. The former operator went into retirement and luckily a fast food chain did not move in, because two successful restaurateurs took over the Café Bellaria. The revitalisation has proved to be more than successful. The interior design is by the Viennese architecture firm KLK. The impressive dome remains, a neon light installation creating new accents here. Bright-red Thonet chairs, orange benches and gray slate slats form an impressive contrast.

Café Bellaria is a coffee house with three faces. It is intended to be a café, restaurant, and bar – with an all-day concept, open from early in the morning until late into the night. An extensive breakfast, re-interpreted Viennese classics, and a sophisticated evening menu with vegetarian and vegan options are offered, and that also includes the desserts. And the evening cocktail menu is impressive. It is abundantly clear that Café Bellaria is much more than just a coffee house. An exciting mix of tradition and modern cuisine.
